DERBYSTAR unveils 2023/24 Official Match Balls
DERBYSTAR has unveiled the Official Match Ball for the 2023/24 Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 seasons, which will celebrate 60 years since the league was founded.
The company, based in Goch in the Lower Rhine region, has created both a Classic Official Match Ball, as well as the "Bundesliga Brillant APS" for the coming season. The Classic OMB will be used on matchdays 1 and 2 in the Bundesliga, with the Brillant APS then taking over for the remainder of the campaign.
Since the 2018/19 season, DERBYSTAR has provided the Official Match Ball for the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2, as well as the Supercup. The partnership between the DFL and the internationally recognised traditional brand has been extended until the summer of 2026.
DERBYSTAR has specialised in the production of hand-sewn balls since it was founded in 1968, and was one of the first ball manufacturers to use synthetic materials. As early as the 1970s, DERBYSTAR, which belongs to the SELECT Sport Group, was represented in German football's top division - initially through numerous affiliations with clubs, before DERBYSTAR balls were used in all 306 Bundesliga matches of the 1979/80 season.
The Official Match Balls can be purchased via DERBYSTAR's official website, here.
