Olympiacos 1-2 Eintracht Frankfurt
Goals: 1-0 El-Arabi 12' (assist: Onyekuru), 1-1 Kamada 17' (assist: Borre), 1-2 Hauge 90'+2 (assist: Lindstrom)

Frankfurt won the reverse fixture to maintain their unbeaten start, but fell behind to an early Youssef El-Arabi goal in Greece. The Eagles weren’t behind for long, though. Soon after conceding, Rafael Santos Borre played in Daichi Kamada to fire past Tomas Vaclik from inside the area for 1-1. Kevin Trapp then came up with two big saves to deny Giorgos Masouras and Mady Camara, and preserve parity going into the break.

Henry Onyekuru spurned Olympiacos’ only real attempt of a cagey second period, turning well but shooting wide with almost an hour on the clock. Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner rang the changes, with substitute Jesper Lindstrom lashing wide with a warning shot of his own. With time running out, the Danish attacker collected a pass from Evan N’Dicka to turn provider for AC Milan loanee Hauge’s dramatic close-range winner. The result sends Frankfurt four points clear at the top of the section, with two games to go.

  • The Eagles have won nine of their 11 away fixtures in Europa League group games.
