Serhou Guirassy joins Borussia Dortmund from VfB Stuttgart
Serhou Guirassy has completed a switch to Borussia Dortmund from Bundesliga rivals VfB Stuttgart on a four-year deal.
Guirassy, 28, posted career-best numbers in 2023/24, the Guinea striker's 28 goals helping Stuttgart finish as Bundesliga runners-up and qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time since 2009. Only Bayern Munich counterpart Harry Kane scored more (36), albeit having played in four games more.
"Serhou is a complete striker who is extremely dangerous in front of goal, and he'll strengthen our squad with his qualities," said Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl.
"We are very pleased that, after the latest medical examinations, he'll be wearing the BVB jersey in the foreseeable future and scoring goals for us."
Guirassy switches to Dortmund with a record of 43 goals in 71 Bundesliga appearances, including 39 across two seasons in a Stuttgart shirt. He also played for Cologne between 2016 and 2018, before returning to France with Amiens and Rennes. Since joining Stuttgart, the former Lavalle, Lille and Auxerre forward has won 16 senior international caps for Guinea, scoring three times.
"When Borussia Dortmund come knocking, it's certainly something special," said Guirassy.
"Every child interested in football in the world knows this club, knows the black and yellow jerseys, knows the yellow wall. I'm very excited about all of that, about my new team-mates. And it's important for me to say that I came here to win titles. That's my ambition, that's what drives me. The club showed what is possible at BVB last year by reaching the Champions League final."

Guirassy could make his competitive Dortmund debut when the 2023/24 Champions League runners-up face German minnows Phönix Lübeck in the DFB Cup first round on 17 August. The new Bundesliga season gets under way a week later, with Dortmund at home to Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday 24 August.
Dortmund finished fifth in 2023/24, but will play in the Champions League again thanks to their run to the final and the performances of other German teams in UEFA competition.
Edin Terzić stepped down as head coach earlier in June, with assistant and former BVB player Nuri Şahin installed as his replacement.
