Scotland on the up
Despite their poor overall record against Germany, and some off-colour performances in pre-tournament friendlies (a 2-0 win over Gibraltar and a 2-2 draw with Finland), Julian Nagelsmann's side would do well not to underestimate their opponents. After all, Steve Clarke's charges qualified for the tournament with two games to spare, finishing as runners-up in Group A on a whopping 17 points, behind only Spain. Indeed, they beat Spain and Erling Haaland's Norway en route to the tournament proper.
Head-to-head
These teams have met 17 times overall. There have been eight wins for Germany, four for Scotland and five draws. However, the Scots have never beaten Germany in a competitive fixture.
