After his two goals from the bench in the last 16, Borussia Dortmund's Donyell Malen will be hoping to make another big impact today.

These two countries last met in 2021 during FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualification, where they exchanged wins on home soil. A 4-2 victory for the hosts in Türkey was followed by a 6-1 win for the Netherlands in the reverse. This will be their 15th meeting overall, with Netherlands winning six so far, Türkiye four and the pair sharing four draws.

How they got here: Netherlands

The Netherlands only got out of Group D as one of the best third-place runners-up but their tournament burst into life courtesy of a 3-0 win over Romania last time out. Borussia Dortmund forward Donyell Malen struck twice as a substitute in that victory and will be pushing to start in the quarters as a result.

How they got here: Türkiye

The Türkiye ride has been incredibly fun so far. Most said they had already defied the odds to finished second behind Portugal - and only on goal-difference - in Group F, even before they overcame fellow "Dark Horses" Austria in the last-16. A memorable Mert Gunok save late on stole the headlines but it was another committed, highly-entertaining outing from a team which is quickly becoming the favourite second team of nearly everyone outside of Türkiye.
