Köhn picks out Ducksch at the back post with a cross from the left, but the Bremen attacker is unable to connect well with the ball and it goes wide.

A backpass from Schmid towards his 'keeper offers the Union attacker a chance to nip in and take the ball in front of Bremen's penalty area, but Zetterer reacts fastest and clears the ball away in the nick of time.

Schmid gets past Doekhi and is free to shoot on Schwolow's goal, but his curling right-footed effort is saved by the 'keeper on the stretch.

Bremen move the ball forward well on two occasions, but both chances are squandered with the hosts failing to pick out the right pass into the box to set up a shot on goal.

Ducksch rolls it across the edge of the box to Schmid, who takes one touch inside before trying to pick out the bottom-left corner with a precise shot. However, the shot lacks conviction and dribbles wide of the target.

A flat cross in from the left from Köhn comes to Grüll near the edge of the box, who sweeps it into the roof of the net with a first-time, left-footed finish to double the Green-Whites' advantage.

Two of Bremen's Austrian contingent link up to give the hosts the lead. Schmid whips in a cross from the right, and it finds the head of Grüll, who powerfully nods it into the bottom-left corner.

Leite struggles to deal with the high ball, and heads it backwards into the path of Ducksch. Bremen's No. 7 charges through onto goal with the ball sitting up, but his left-footed half-volley clips the top of the crossbar before sailing over.

Zetterer plays it in behind into the path of Grüll, who takes on Leite. The attacker is shepherded out onto the left flank and is ultimately robbed of possession by the Union defender.
