A much more intense second half of football! Leipzig came out strong after the break. They thought they'd managed to make their set pieces count, but Šeško's opener was disallowed. Not long after, Openda broke the deadlock, with a pinpoint finish from a very tight angle. The hosts would not take defeat lying down, however, and threw everything they had at Leipzig. Some Gulácsi heroics and both teams smacking the woodwork meant that the final score, somehow, remained 1-0.

Leipzig don't clear and Beck manages to cut in from the right and get another shot away to the near post but once again Gulácsi is equal to it. It looked certain that Heidenheim would score there!

"The boys know what to expect there. Heidenheim have progressed a lot, but corners and free-kicks are still a good source for them, also goals from crosses. We need a really good performance. We need to get stuck into tackles, but that's nothing new. If you want something there, you need to be ready."

Schmidt's thoughts on Leipzig

"It'll definitely be a different game [from Thursday's Conference League tie with Olimpija Ljubljana], even though both teams play with the same system. We won't have the same amount of possession against Leipzig as we did yesterday. With Openda and Šeško up front, they have two outstanding strikers, perhaps the best combination the Bundesliga has to offer. They're a team who will challenge us with lots of intensity, pressing and counter-pressing."

Immovable object vs. only slightly less immovable object

Leipzig goalkeeper Péter Gulácsi and his defence have only conceded two goals this term, their four clean sheets the best in the league, just ahead of... Heidenheim, whom keeper Kevin Müller has helped to an amazing three clean sheets after five matchday.

Heidenheim's honorifically named summer signing Sirlord Conteh is an absolute star when it comes to sprints - the Hamburg-born midfielder with Ghanaian roots tops this season's speedster chart adfter being clocked at a blurry 36.67 km/h. Šeško brace not enough

Despite a pair of stunning goals from Benjamin Šeško - the first of which came from an equally stellar assist from Loïs Openda - and being a man up following Di Gregorio's red card, RB Leipzig fell 3-2 at home to Juventus on UEFA Champions League Matchday 2. Nonetheless, Slovenia striker Šeško is now looking extremely dangerous, with six goals and three assists in eight matches for Leipzig in all competitions this term.
