Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick: "I'm just proud of the team"
Bayern Munich head coach Hansi Flick was almost lost for words after his side won the UEFA Champions League title thanks to a 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.
bundesliga.com rounds up the reactions following Bayern's second treble-winning season in seven years.
Hansi Flick: "I can't say very much right now. I'm just proud of the team. Our development has been sensational, we've done everything superbly and even made the most of the coronavirus break as best we could. The team continued on their path today and bravely defended high up the pitch, which was excellent. This team just has the desire, we've got players with an unbending will to win. This success belongs to everyone, to all the employees and everyone who helps."
Kingsley Coman: "I'm very happy, it's an unbelievable night – not just for the club, but for all the fans. Obviously I wanted to have a good game, not because of PSG, but because I'm 100 per cent Bayern and I was determined to win. I feel sorry for Paris, because I come from the city. This is an extraordinary feeling. I feel a lot of joy, but also sadness for PSG."
Manuel Neuer: "We worked hard for this and deserve it. It's a dream for everyone. It’s difficult to come to terms with this feeling of joy at full time. We weren’t so relaxed in our build-up play, perhaps we lacked a little confidence. It was a team performance from everyone. I’ve never had so much fun playing with a team."
Robert Lewandowski: "Never stop dreaming. Never give up when you fail. Work hard to achieve your goal."
Joshua Kimmich: "It's the greatest day of my career. I can't describe what it means to be out on the pitch with this group of players. Winning a title with your brothers is as good as it gets."
Thomas Tuchel, PSG coach: "I had the feeling beforehand that maybe the first goal would decide the match. We needed this boost to feel more free. Unfortunately you could see Kylian [Mbappe] lacks a bit of rhythm in his game. He’s come back from injury. We showed a big fight but they scored and it was decisive. We showed the attitude necessary to win. We weren't lucky enough."
Thiago Silva: "That was my last match for Paris. I'm sad. I apologise to the supporters and thank all the fans for their love."
