Full time: Dortmund 1-1 Bayern

It's all over and the spoils are shared at Signal Iduna Park. Bayern will likely feel it's two points dropped after dominating the majority of the game with 63 percent possession and 13 shots to Dortmund's seven. However, Gittens' superb opener and a resolute defensive showing earned Dortmund the draw, while Musiala's late header was the least the visitors deserved for a commanding display.

Coman denied!

Another chance for Bayern as Musiala lays the ball off for Musiala, whose shot from 16 metres out is straight at Kobel. In the build-up to that effort there appeared to be a moment where Müller, unmarked inside the box, could have turned and shot, but instead he touched it out to Musiala.

Work in progress under Şahin

In contrast to Kompany's start at Bayern, Dortmund boss Nuri Şahin has had a tougher run so far as BVB boss. A ten-point gap between themselves and Bayern speaks to that difference. And yet, they've achieved some really important results this term already, beating the likes of Frankfurt and RB Leipzig.

Happy hunting ground for Harry

While Dortmund was the scene of Kane's first away hat-trick in the Bundesliga for Bayern, the return Klassiker in Munich in March was one of just nine league matches in 2023/24 he failed to find the net in. The question of which Kane we see this time could be critical!

Green light for Black and Yellows

The severe injury crisis Dortmund have been facing was easing by the end of the November international break. Waldemar Anton, Gregor Kobel and Jamie Gittens were declared fit in time to start their 4-0 win over Freiburg, with Giovanni Reyna also coming on as a substitute. Niklas Süle, Karim Adeyemi and Kjell Wätjen had returned to training by then, and the hope was they would also recover in time for the Klassiker.
