HAALAND AT THE DOUBLE

Hradecky goes the right way, but that's as precise as you're going to get from the penalty spot from Haaland. BVB lead for the first time!

WHAT. A. GOAL!

Goal of the day alert! Malen draws a foul from Frimpong on the edge of the Leverkusen area. Guerreiro steps up to whip a sensational free-kick over the wall and out of Hradecky's reach. Six goals, and probably more to come!

GLOVED CRUSADERS

Hradecky gets down well to a Haaland pass intended for Reus. Kobel then shovels away a Schick curler at the other end. There are more goals in this...

ATTACKING CHANGE

Positive from Marco Rose as foward Donyell Malen replaces holding midfielder Axel Witel.

ADLI DEBUT

Amini Adli makes his Bundesliga debut, the Frenchman replacing the excellent Amine Adli. The 21-year-old scored eight goals and assisted seven as Toulouse earned promotion to the French top-flight last season.
56'

MOUSSA-D!

Leverkusen lead for the third time! A corner is cleared only as far as Moussa Diaby, who swipes at the ball from the edge of the area. He completely miscues it, but a deflection gives him a second bite of the cherry. He switches the ball onto his right root, and bends home from 18 yards. A fine strike from the Frenchman - his third goal of the campaign!

BRANDT EQUALISES!

Dortmund are back on level terms early in this second half. Brandt is charging full-pelt into the Leverkusen area as he takes on Haaland's lay-off. The first touch is somewhat fortuitious, but the second - with his back-heel - quite brilliantly takes him past Tah. The finish is pretty special, too - a thunderous hit from a tight angle. Game on!

SCHICK FOR LEVERKUSEN!

Leverkusen retake the lead! It's another mistake in midfield from Dortmund - this time from Brandt - and the hosts take full advantage. Wirtz collects a long ball from Demirbay and feeds Schick, who dispatches a first-time finish across Kobel and into the bottom corner. Absolutely clinical!

DANGER AT BOTH ENDS

Bellingham drives into the Leverkusen box again, but loses his footing as he tries to get his shot away, allowing Hradecky to block. Diaby then leads a trademark Leverkusen attack, which meets an abrupt end when Pongracic barges over Schick with his shoulder. No penalty.
40'

DISALLOWED GOAL!

Dortmund celebrations are stopped in their tracks at the BayArena. Bellingham's the hopeful scorer, having met a nonchalant back-to-goal header from Haaland, but the referee is checking something. After a quick review, he signals it won't count, with Dahoud penalised for an earlier foul on Diaby.

FOLLOW THE LEADER

Reus cuts an animated figure as the Dortmund players take advantage of a stoppage in play to take on some fluids. The BVB skipper gesticulates pretty wildly, as if to say "we're not moving the ball fast enough in attack". He's right...
32'

ANDRICH!

Leverkusen move the ball from left to right in the Dortmund half. Guerreiro attempts to clear, but only finds Andrich, whose first-time volley swerves wide from range. That could have gone anywhere!

SHOT FOR HAALAND

Haaland tests Hradecky for the first time, but it's meat and drink for the Leverkusen No.1. Big Erling was turning under pressure from two defenders, and didn't catch it quite right.
24'

DANGER MAN

Paulinho's causing Dortmund real problems. The Brazilian takes out two BVB shirts as he zig-zags in off the left-hand flank and into the box. He has options left and right, but one jink too many allows Marin Pongracic the time to get a tackle in.
22'

WIDE FROM SCHICK

Meunier goes into the book for a rash challenge on the lively Paulinho. Schick steps up to take the free-kick, bending over the wall and narrowly wide of Kobel's left-hand post.
19'

SCHICK DENIED!

Leverkusen cut Dortmund in two on the counter. Paulinho then squeezes a low ball into the channel for Wirtz, who cuts it across goal for Schick. The Czech striker winds up from six yards, but Guerreiro slides in to turn it back to Kobel. Certain goal averted.
18'

DORTMUND PRESSURE

Here come Dortmund again. Reus's shot from inside the area is blocked. Witsel takes it on, earning a corner with a deflected mishit. Hradecky's out to punch clear the ensuing delivery. Good spell for the visitors, this.
17'

PRINCE FLORIAN

Florian Wirtz's current tally now reads eight goals and eight assists in 39 Bundesliga games. He's fresh off winning his first Germany caps, too - at 18!
16'

REUS THREAT

It opens up for Reus in front of the Leverkusen area, but he takes too long too get his shot off, allowing a Leverkusen player to stab the ball back to Hradecky.
12'

BRANDT!

Almost an immediate response from Dortmund. The Leverkusen defence backs off as Haaland barrels towards the 18-yard box. He slips through ex-Bayer man Brandt, whose dinked attempt is pushed past the post by Hradecky. No corner given, but that was a superb save by the Finn.
10'

WIRTZ!!!

Leverkusen strike first. Guerreiro loses the ball midway through the BVB half. Paulinho helps it on to Wirtz, who runs into the space between the Dortmund centre-backs, before poking past the advancing Kobel with the outside of his right foot. Lovely finish, but very suspect defending.

END-TO-END

Dortmund build in the final third as Guerreiro tries to find Haaland with a floated cross. Hradecky gathers and launches the ball forward. Leverkusen move through the gears, but Akanji mops up before Schick can join the party in the BVB area.

WARNING SHOT

Axel Witsel uncharacteristically concedes possession in the Dortmund half. Robert Andrich shifts it on to Moussa Diaby, who turns quickly and drives over.

TUNNEL TALK

There's a real sense of anticipation at the BayArena as the players queue up in the tunnel. The music sounds, and out they come to raucous applause.

SCHICK VS. HAALAND

READY FOR GOALS?

There has been at least one goal scored in the last 12 meetings between Leverkusen and Dortmund, and only one draw, so we can expect plenty of goalmouth action today!

ONE TO WATCH

If Seoane does want to remain unbeaten, he will have to pay particular attention to Erling Haaland. The Dortmund forward is averaging a goal a game in this season’s Bundesliga and has scored 43 times in 46 Bundesliga appearances all told.

PROUD RECORD

Leverkusen coach Seoane is unbeaten in 14 of his last 16 matches as a head coach, including four in all competitions since taking charge of Leverkusen (W13, D1). Can he extend that impressive streak today?

SCHICK ON SONG

After going eight Bundesliga matches without a goal, Schick has scored in back-to-back games for the fifth time in 54 German top-flight appearances.

LEVERKUSEN TEAM NEWS

Patrik Schick, the joint-top scorer at UEFA Euro 2020 - only missing out on the Golden Boot by virtue of Cristiano Ronaldo's superior assist count - didn't take long to find his range in the new Bundesliga season. After drawing a blank in Leverkusen's 1-1 draw with Union Berlin, the Czech international was on target in wins over Borussia Mönchengladbach and Augsburg, helping preserve Gerardo Seoane's unbeaten start as head coach. The Swiss tactician faces his sternest test yet today, though, and is deprived of South American duo Charles Aranguiz and Exequiel Palacios. New signing Robert Andrich partners Kerem Demirbay in central midfield as a result, but the contest has come too soon for Argentina striker Lucas Alario to make his first appearance of the 2021/22 campaign, although he is on the bench.

DORTMUND TEAM NEWS

Dortmund travelled to the BayArena with personnel concerns of their own. Defender Mats Hummels is yet to play this season due to a knee problem, while American teenager Gio Reyna returned from USMNT duty with a thigh complain. With makeshift centre-back Emre Can out, Marin Pongracic - a deadline day loan signing from Wolfsburg - slots straight into the defence. Former Bayer man Julian Brandt may takes Reyna's role in Marco Rose's midfield, in front of Jude Bellingham, and Mahmoud Dahoud. Summer signing Donyell Malen is on the bench with captain Marco Reus completing the supply line behind Haaland, whose third Bundesliga goal in as many games handed fifth-placed BVB a dramatic 3-2 win over Hoffenheim on Matchday 3. Unsurprisingly, the 21-year-old has been among the goals for Norway in 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying.
