Netherlands denied
A long VAR check follows a Dutch celebration after Xavi had the ball in the net. Unfortunately for the Leipzig attacker, Dumfries was standing in an offside position beside goalkeeper Mike Maignan. The goal is ruled out.
68'
Dembélé over the top
Dembélé jinks and twists and lets fly with his left. It's over the top again. Dider Deschamps swears down on the touchline.
65'
Verbruggen saves Netherlands
Super move from France, who make their way through with plenty of flicks and tricks. Kanté feeds Griezmann who slides in and plays his shot against Verbruggen. It's good save, but Griezmann will feel very disappointed he didn't score there.

Thuram's moment
Marcus Thuram works some space for himself on the edge of the area and drills a shot back across the goal and wide.

No-go Rabiot
Dembélé's cross from the right is met by Rabiot, but the Juventus player whacks his shot from the penalty spot high and wide.
53'
Oranje off target
Dembélé topples Xavi and the Netherlands have a free kick on the edge of the box. Depay slams his set-piece straight into the wall.

Wayward Kanté
The Al-Ittihad man blooters a shot from way out over the crossbar. Poor effort.
47'
Dembélé power
Dembélé turns on the afterburners and races away from Aké, however, the ex-Borussia Dortmund attacker just runs out of pitch.

Rabiot floats a ball onto the head of Griezmann, who glances one straight at Verbruggen.

Into the wall
Griezmann's free-kick cannons behind off a Dutch head. He takes the corner, but Gakpo is first to it.
39'
Set-piece incoming
Dembélé tries to make in-roads in the Netherlands area, but the Oranje have plenty of men behind the ball. They look to break, before the referee calls play back for a foul on the France forward on the edge of the area...

Warning shots
Frimpong pounces on a mistake by Griezmann, but his effort is blocked by Saliba. Xavi then takes on a shot from 20 yards that doesn't trouble the goalkeeper.

Maignan save
The France keeper does really well to push an awkward long-range strike from Gakpo round his right-hand post. It took a really awkward bounce in front of him.
14'
Like a Rabiot in the headlights!
Rabiot's through for France, but opts to square for Griezmann, who's tackled in the six-yard box. France recycle possession and again find their skipper, who whips a first-time effort narrowly wide.
10'
No way through
Brilliant from Upamecano to track and stop Depay from latching onto a dinked pass into the box. The Netherlands have made a really encouraging start.
8'
Right idea
Depay receives a teasing ball into the France penalty area from Xavi, but is crowded out as he tries to bring it under wraps.
4'
Griezmann!
France's captain catches the ball really cleanly from distance. Verbruggen's taking no chances, the Dutch stopper tipping it over for a corner that comes to nothing.
2'
Frimpong!
The electric Frimpong races away and shoots towards the bottom corner, forcing a finger-tip save from Maignan. He was making those kind of moves all season for Leverkusen - it could be a long night for France left-back Hernández.

Under way!
The Netherlands, in orange, kick off. France are in their change strip of white shirts and blue shorts.
Kick-off!
Moment's applause
Ahead of kick-off, all those in attendance pay their respects to former UEFA general secretary Gerhard Aigner, who passed away on Thursday.

More on those teams
Kylian Mbappé's only fit enough for the bench after breaking his nose in the win over Austria. Ex-Gladbach striker Marcus Thuram plays through the middle, with Antoine Griezmann moving to the left flank and Aurélien Tchouaméni coming into the midfield. As for the Netherlands, Bayer Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong is called on to start on the right wing. Xavi Simons also gets the nod, albeit in his preferred No.10 role. Joey Veerman drops to the bench.
Netherlands starting line-up

Group D so far
The Netherlands and France are locked on three points after respective 2-1 and 1-0 wins over Poland and Austria. The winner here would reach the knockouts with room to spare.
Bundesliga hitters in both teams
Matthijs de Ligt (Bayern Munich), Wout Weghorst (Hoffenheim), Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen), Donyell Malen (Borussia Dortmund) and Ian Maatsen - who spent the second half of 2023/24 on loan at Dortmund - are the Bundesliga players in the Dutch squad. They could face some familiar faces in France and Bayern duo Dayot Upamecano and Kingsley Coman.
